He is an entrepreneur and a leader with proven startup experience (like PlaceWare, Qik) as well as leading groups within large organizations, like Oracle, Microsoft and HP.
Prior to Playphone, Bhaskar was the co-founder and SVP of Products at Qik, which was acquired by Skype in January 2011 and then Microsoft. At Skype, Bhaskar was Head of Qik Products where he led the charter to bring asynchronous communications and new mobile experiences in Skype. Prior to Qik, Bhaskar was a Sr. Product Director for SMB Products at Oracle. While at Oracle, Mr. Roy also served as Director of Product Management for Unified Communications products. Prior to Oracle, Mr. Roy led product management and channel marketing at PlaceWare (which is now a part of Microsoft Lync after the company was acquired by Microsoft). Bhaskar has a BS in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology, India.
